Redvales gets active for 2017- how far will they go? To Lincoln and back11th February 2017

On Wednesday 18th January 2017 Fisherfield Childcare staff from Redvales nursery got on their static bike challenge for the whole day!

The aim of the day was to promote healthy lifestyles while having some fun. The staff travelled back in time to the fun 80s; staff were dressed up in their best gym sportswear, bags of motivation and faces of determination cycled to 80s classic tunes.

Employees took turns to cycle for as long as they could, including visitors from Redvales Centre ensured the bike was continuously active from 8 am without stoppage before easing on the brakes at 5.30pm.

The nursery members supported the team by cheering each other on, and the biggest cheerleaders were the children. With poms poms, sweet voices of cheers and broad smiles, as well as giggles and advice to help spur the cyclist to keep pedalling. They travelled 149 miles and burnt 2,262 calories.

Congratulations to Kiran who won the healthy living hamper charity raffle in aid of NSPCC.

All of the funds raised by our Redvales Nursery will go towards helping NSPCC. The money raised will help the NSPCC protect more children across the through vital services such as Childline – the UK’s free, confidential 24-hour helpline and online service for children and young people.
