The Gables children read The Queen’s Hat story to residents at Half Acre10th April 2018

This week the children from The Gables visited Half Acre House residential home where they made their own crowns. They took the story ‘The Queen’s Hat’, and read to the residents. They had some jam and lemon curd tarts, and with a Royal theme in mind enjoyed a Royal Tea Party!

The children then explored the gardens of the care home, and enjoyed listening to the sounds of the wind-chimes, each taking a turn to sit in the wheelbarrow! On their way back to nursery, the taxi driver put on the disco lights and some music, the children loved moving their bodies to the beat!

Our continued visits to the residents are beneficial to both young and old, building relationships and confidence when talking to the older generation.
