Nursery Assistant Manager Shaunie Preston could have been forgiven for feeling a little nostalgic when she did a question-and-answer session at a recruitment fair at Bury College. For the Level 2 and Level 3 Childcare students in front of her could almost have been Shaunie herself a few years ago and is studying towards a Foundation Degree. Shaunie was attending the recruitment fair as a representative of Fisherfield Childcare when she was recognised by a former tutor, who asked her to share her experiences with current students.
Fisherfield Childcare operates nurseries in 7 settings and a holiday club across Rochdale, Middleton & Bury. The college nursery is open to children from the local community as well as those of students at the college.
Vacancies, for apprentices as well as qualified staff, are advertised on the Fisherfield Childcare website, www.fisherfieldchildcare.co.uk .
"Staff have an excellent knowledge and understanding of the children's individual needs and provide a stimulating environment where all children are excited and motivated to learn. Observations of children are consistently used to plan for children's individual next steps in learning."

"My son, eats food at nursery that he wouldn't / doesn't eat at home. Which is fantastic! I think the other children eating well shows him there something more to this dish than he thinks."
