Valuing Diversity and Equality Statement

Fisherfield Childcare are committed to promoting equality and valuing diversity, in an inclusive and supportive environment for all children, carers, users and partners.

Children develop quickly and Fisherfield Childcare as practitioners aim to do all they can to help children have the best possible start in life. Children have a right, and we will endeavour to provide environments which enables them to develop their personalities, talents and abilities irrespective of ethnicity, culture or religion, home language, family background, learning difficulties, disabilities or gender as stated by The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Everyone at Fisherfield Childcare will:

  • promote equality of opportunity and diversity within the communities in which we work and with all our partners and workforce
  • Treat people fairly regard less of their gender, race, colour ethnic or national origins, age, disability, socio-economic background, religious or political beliefs and affiliations, marital status, family responsibility, sexual orientation or other distinction.
  • Discriminatory behaviour is not acceptable in any form, promoting an environment free from discrimination, bullying and harassment, and tackling behaviour which breaches this.
  • Providing support and encouragement to staff to develop their careers and increase their contributions to the organisation through the enhancement of their skills and abilities

  • building in legislative requirements and best practice to all our service delivery and employee policies and procedures, and supporting these with appropriate training and guidance.
